Los Angeles—NSB Associates will be developing Ascend, a stand-alone, 80,000-square-foot creative office building designed by architect Frank Gehry, whose other work includes the creative Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles. Located at the Utah Avenue Campus in El Segundo, the building is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2017. JLL’s Mike McRoskey, Blake Searles, Evan Moran and Jason Fine will be leading the leasing efforts for Ascend and the Utah Avenue Campus.

“El Segundo is ideal for attracting greater Los Angeles’ and SoCal’s talented workforce, by offering the appeal of a beach community combined with world-class technology and innovation,” said McRoskey in prepared remarks.  “Ascend is a one-of-a-kind opportunity in the South Bay market for companies to create and produce in a Frank Gehry-designed workplace.”

Ascend is the latest addition to the Utah Avenue Campus, a six-building office complex which has no gross receipts tax, and is home to many Fortune 500 companies. The property will feature 24-foot clear-height ceilings, large glass panel walls, illuminating skylights, and 16,000 square feet of private outdoor patio space. The building sits on a podium over a covered parking structure.

Ideally located steps away from the LA Metro Green Line and minutes from LAX,  in between Sepulveda Boulevard, the I-105 and I-405 freeways, the property offers easy access to SoCal communities.
