Oberg Medical Signs Full-Building Lease in Chicago

Venture One Real Estate acquired the 60,126-square-foot facility last October and invested in interior renovations. Colliers International represented the tenant.

Oberg Medical Products Co. has signed a long-term, full-building industrial lease at 4311 N. Normandy Ave. in Chicago. Oberg Medical intends to consolidate the facilities from its Elk Grove Village and Niles, Ill., divisions into the new location and hire more than 100 people.

Located near Interstate 90 and Chicago International Airport, the Class A building encompass 60,126 square feet and sits on roughly 3.4 acres. Its features include precast, 25-foot clear height, four exterior docks, one drive-in door and parking for more than 100 cars. Venture One Real Estate acquired the Chicago property in October 2018 and improved it through interior demolition and renovation works. 

Colliers Senior Vice Presidents Chris Volkert and Brendan Green represented Oberg Medical in the transaction, while Brett Kroner, executive director at Cushman & Wakefield, brokered the deal on behalf of the owner. “The modern industrial building checked the boxes for our client’s real estate requirements, including heavy power and manufacturing amenities, access to labor and highway access and an existing 6B tax classification,” Green said in a prepared statement. 

Kroner was part of the Cushman & Wakefield team that represented the owner of a Chicago-area 84,000 square-foot industrial facility that opened last December.
