OneRoof Energy Brings 100 New Green Jobs to San Diego; LaSalle Investment Management Expands Portfolio
- Feb 26, 2012
Mayor Jerry Sanders, CleanTECH San Diego and OneRoof Energy have announced the creation of over 100 new green jobs.
OneRoof Energy is the first U.S. residential solar company working directly with roofers to sell and install its solar systems. Last year, the company received $50 million in financing to create its SolarSelect Lease program, which enables homeowners to integrate the solar system into their roofs with little to no upfront payment. The customers can go green by paying a monthly lease for the system, which, combined with their new, lower electric bill, is lower than their existing bill without solar.
According to Mayor Jerry Sanders, “Not only does San Diego have the highest use of residential solar of any U.S. city, the region is also quickly becoming a North American hub for innovations in renewable energy. With programs like SolarSelect, we’ll continue to build our position as America’s top solar city.”
CleanTECH San Diego, a private non-profit member organization, was formed in 2007 and is one of the nation’s premier cleantech cluster organizations aiming to position the region as a global leader in the cleantech economy.
In other news, LaSalle Investment Management has acquired two Class A medical office buildings for $147.5 million. Holliday Fenoglio Fowler marketed the 253,676-square-foot portfolio on behalf of the seller, Kilroy Realty Corporation.
Located at 15004 Innovation Drive in Rancho Bernardo, the six-story, 150,801-square-foot building was built in 2008 and is fully leased to Scripps Health for 15 years. The other property is located at 10243 Genetic Center Drive. The 102,875-square-foot property is fully leased for 20 years to Sharp Healthcare with the possibility to expand by up to 48,300 square feet.
