Plastipak Packaging, a company that designs, manufactures and distributes rigid plastic packaging, has revealed plans to implement a $15 million capital investment in expanding production capacity at its plant in Pineville, La.

Reinvestment and Expansion

Through this program, the company will add up to seven production lines to increase effectiveness at the 862,000-square-foot Pineville plant. The installation of the new lines will commence in the third quarter of 2017. The project marks the second expansion at this facility, following the one in 2015, when the company invested $9 million for the addition of three new production lines.

To secure the project, the State of Louisiana offered a competitive incentive package including LED FastStart, the nation’s state workforce development program. “Plastipak’s new investment in its Pineville facility is a testament to the economic climate and highly skilled workforce here in Louisiana. Louisiana’s business climate is one in which companies can not only make an initial investment, but also thrive and make continued reinvestments and expansions, just like Plastipak is doing today,” Governor John Bel Edwards, said in prepared remarks.
