Four national retailers and one of the fastest-growing fast-food restaurant chains in the country are coming to Suffolk, Va. They will all open new locations in the newly-developed Hampton Roads Crossing shopping center.
On Tuesday, June 23, Gerald Divaris, chairman and CEO of Divaris Real Estate Inc., announced that Petco, DSW Shoe Warehouse, ULTA, and Five Below have signed leases for space at the Kroger Marketplace-anchored shopping center. Levi Thompson, vice president at DRE’s Virginia Beach office, represented the landlord, HRC Retail in the deal.
Petco’s new store will have 12,500 square feet of space and will include grooming and dog training. DSW’s will have 12,000 square feet. It will be the Dublin, OH-based retailer’s fifth store in Hampton Roads. The new Suffolk location will be the fifth Hampton Roads store for Five Below as well. It will have 7,500 square feet. Divaris did not reveal the size of ULTA’s new store.
In addition to the four leases, RLB Realty Investment also purchased 1.13 acres of land at College Drive and Hampton Roads Crossing. This site will become the new home of the area’s sixth Zaxby’s restaurant. Levi Thompson represented the seller, Terry/Peterson Investment Thirty LLC, in the transaction. The sale price was not disclosed.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled and supportive of this dynamic mix of tenants that has selected Suffolk to grow their business and look forward to seeing this retail destination moving forward,” Suffolk Mayor Linda T. Johnson said in a news release.
Hampton Roads Crossing is a 40-acre mixed-use development located in Suffolk’s Harbour View area. It includes both single family homes, townhomes, condos, apartments and retail.
