Hotel RL Baltimore

Red Lion Hotels Corp. has finally opened its first property on the East Coast.

The new Hotel RL is nestled within Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, in the city’s historic Keyser Building. The hospitality company purchased the 10-story property at 207 East Redwood St. last year for $15.7 million, and immediately started work on a $3.5 million renovation project. The revamped property now features 130 guest rooms, 600 square feet of technologically advanced meeting space, exercise room, business center, and the brand’s signature elements.

Hotel RL’s design was inspired by the adventurous spirit of the Pacific Northwest. The lobby acts as a casual meeting space, with a unique seating concept called The Steps, which reproduces the feeling of a typical Pacific Northwestern coffee house. Meanwhile, guest rooms feature plush seating and hard work surfaces, with hardwood floors, flat-screen TVs, and retail-inspired changing areas instead of standard closets. According to RLHC, all aspects of the new hotel brand were designed by PULSE by Gettys, a division of The Gettys Group.

To celebrate the grand opening of the Hotel RL, RLHC has also launched Project Wake Up Call, a social responsibility effort aimed at raising funds and awareness to help combat homelessness. The Hotel RL brand will launch similar campaigns in each city where a new hotel is set for opening.
