Lamar Central, Highland Resources’ Class A, mixed-use development located at 38th St. and N. Lamar Blvd. in Central Austin, will accommodate Regus in 18,000 newly-leased square feet of office space.

“Opening a new business center at Lamar Central will allow us to meet the ongoing demand for flexible office space in Austin,” said Michael Berretta, Regus’ vice president for development. This will be Regus’10th location in Austin.

Cushman & Wakefield/Oxford Commercial negotiated the lease on behalf of Highland, and JLL’s John Childers and Jake Ragusa represented Regus. Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

“The expansion to Lamar Central is a smart move for Regus and further establishes its presence as a leading workspace solutions provider in a market that has increasingly become a destination for national and international employers,” said John Childers, a senior vice president for JLL.

The four-story, 165,000-square-foot development will features more than 132,000 square feet of column-free office space and 33,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space. Amenities include floor-to-ceiling windows, garage parking with direct connection into each tenant floor, car-charging station, bike storage, showers and changing rooms, and green building features.

“The quality of the building, the strategic location and the range of business services we provide enables us to accommodate our diverse client base, which ranges from start-ups to Fortune 500s,” said Berretta. “The location is convenient and close to housing options, desirable neighborhoods and local attractions. This spot also puts us a few minutes from downtown, as well as just south of the tech campuses and growth occurring in North Austin.”

Lamar Central is on track to open this month and Regus plans to its door by spring 2016. Other tenants at the mixed-use development include the Austin-based Kendra Scott Jewelry and the local debut of Snooze, an A.M. Eatery.
