Baltimore County is celebrating a huge win. Reliable Churchill, LLLP, the largest wine and spirits distributorship in the state of Maryland, has relocated its headquarters and more than 500 of its employees to a new office-warehouse complex in the Baltimore Crossroads business community, in White Marsh/Middle River.
Chesapeake Real Estate Group LLC and Industrial Income Trust started work on the new facility last year, after Reliable Churchill announced its intention to move. The cost of the project was not disclosed. It delivered a 449,200-square-foot, state-of-the-art distribution center, where Reliable Churchill can consolidate its office and warehouse operations.
In a news release, Kevin Dunn, president and CEO of Reliable Churchill, said that the building and the location are perfect for his company. The liquor distributor’s new headquarters is just minutes from I-95 and offers all the space the company needs to grow and become more efficient.
“The move to Baltimore County has allowed us to continue deliveries to our customers throughout the region without interruption. Our employees are getting to know the many amenities that White Marsh and Middle River have to offer, ” Dunn said in a press statement.
The new building is part of the 1,000-acre Baltimore Crossroads business community located on Maryland Route 43, near Interstate 95 in White Marsh/Middle River. Over 60 companies, with approximately 2,900 employees, currently work there. BGE Home, Atlantic Design, Inc., PEVCO, Synagro and Social Solutions are just some of them.
“We are welcoming more than a major operations and distribution center to Baltimore County. We are welcoming 500 Reliable Churchill workers who can now say they are a proud part of Baltimore County’s business community,” Baltimore County Executive Kamenetz added. “Reliable Churchill is a tremendous addition to Baltimore Crossroads’ success as a significant employment center for eastern Baltimore County.”
Construction is still ongoing at Baltimore Crossroads. When fully finished, the business community will feature almost 5.5 million square feet of industrial, retail, office and flex space, as well as a mix of homes, luxury apartments and open space. And nearby, along Maryland Route 43, St. John Properties plans to build the 200-acre Greenleigh at Crossroads mixed-use development, with a mixture of mid-rise Class A commercial office buildings, retail amenities and housing options.
