Renaissance Tampa Gets in U.S. News’ 2014 ‘Best Hotels’ Ranking

Renaissance Tampa International Plaza Hotel in the Sunshine State earned a place among the best hotels in in U.S. News & World Report’s 2014 list. The publication honors properties that are renowned in the travel industry for their luxury amenities and quality customer service.
Renaissance Tampa International Plaza Hotel has been chosen as one of the best hotels in Florida and the number-one hotel in Tampa. “It is an honor to be recognized by such an esteemed publication and we look forward to continuing to inspire discovery for our many guests from around the world,” Jim Bartholomay, general manager, said in a statement.
The 8-story hotel is located in International Plaza, minutes from the business district, convenient to downtown, shops, dining, beaches and the Tampa Airport. It features 287 rooms, 6 suites, 15 meeting rooms totaling 12,500 square feet of meeting space. Services and amenities include on-site parking, wired and wireless internet access, safe deposit boxes, ATM, a full-service business center, a swimming pool etc. The management also provides profiles of local music, art and entertainment through the brand’s RLife LIVE program.
The Westshore facility is part of Marriott’s Renaissance Hotels portfolio. Marriott is an international lodging leader, with one of the broadest portfolio of brands in the industry and more than 3,700 properties.
The 2014 Best Hotels recognize hotels that were ranked by both travel experts and guests, based on online reviews and ratings. The industry awards that hotels receive were also factored in. In total, 1,693 U.S. hotels, 271 Caribbean hotels, 342 Mexican hotels and 223 Canadian hotels were evaluated for the 2014 rankings. Hotels named “Best” are typically the properties that have made it in the top 30 percent of evaluated properties in their region.
