RLJ Lodging Appoints New President, CEO

Leslie Hale started with the company in 2005 and is currently serving as executive vice president, chief operating officer & chief financing officer until Aug. 22, 2018.

RLJ Lodging Trust has appointed Leslie Hale as president & CEO, effective Aug. 22, 2018, following the retirement of Ross Bierkan. Hale serves as the company’s current executive vice president, chief operating officer & chief financing officer.

Hale began her tenure at RLJ by serving as director of real estate and finance at RLJ Development, the company’s predecessor, in 2005. She was then promoted to vice president in 2006, chief financial officer & senior vice president in 2007 and executive vice president in 2013. Three years later, Hale took on the role of chief operating officer, where she was responsible for management of the company’s operating platform and all financial matters.

Over the last 13 years, we have built an incredible and talented team of individuals with an unparalleled enthusiasm to drive this company forward,” Hale said in a prepared statement.

Prior to RLJ, Hale served as vice president in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group of General Electric Capital Corp.’s GE Commercial Finance and associate director in the Strategic Capital Group of GE Real Estate. Before joining GE, she held the position of investment banker at Goldman Sachs. Hale has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance from Howard University and an MBA degree from Harvard Business School.
