Rockefeller Group Names Development Chief

In this new position, veteran real estate executive Thomas Weeks will oversee more than 40 development professionals and $3 billion worth of existing and new projects.

Rockefeller Group has appointed Thomas Weeks as executive vice president and head of development. From the company’s headquarters in New York, he will oversee the firm’s development strategy as well as existing and new projects valued at more than $3 billion. Weeks will coordinate a team of more than 40 development professionals and report to Rockefeller President & CEO Daniel Moore.

With more than 25 years of development experience spanning several property types, Weeks has held senior leadership positions in the country’s most active development and construction companies. Previously, he was executive general manager at Lendlease Development Inc., where he oversaw all aspects of the development process for projects ranging from multifamily rental and condominiums to Class A office, industrial, student housing and specialty health care. Before that, he served as managing director of residential and mixed-use development at Clayco. Weeks graduated from Amherst College and received his J.D. from the University of Chicago.

Over the past five years, Rockefeller Group has completed more than 12 million square feet of development or redevelopment, including the 2.1 million-square-foot redevelopment of 1271 Avenue of the Americas in Midtown Manhattan. Recently, the company began construction on 10Edison, a 900,000-square-foot industrial project in Edison, N.J., which is slated for completion in August 2020.
