- Apr 17, 2008
The Rezidor Hotel Group has announced the development of what will be its 30th property in Russian and the Commonwealth of Independent States. The new project, Park Inn Kazan, will include 174 rooms, and is set to open in Kazan, Russia, in the second quarter of 2011. A pioneer in the Russian lodging market, Rezidor was one of the first international hotel firms to establish full development and operations offices there. The company currently has a number of projects under development in the region, including three new Radisson hotels in Moscow, as well as planned developments in Georgia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine, all members of the CIS—an alliance of 11 former Soviet Republics. “We are having the strongest pipeline ever in Russia & CIS,” noted Rezidor president & CEO Kurt Ritter in a release today. The new hotel in Kazan will be Rezidor’s 30th in the Russia & CIS area, representing a total of nearly 8,000 rooms. The area is the firm’s fastest-growing region in Eastern Europe. Park Inn Kazan will be located in one of Russia’s largest cities, as well as the largest port on the Volga River. The hotel will be built in the city center, and will include a restaurant, lobby bar and lounge, conference areas and a fitness center. Brussels, Belgium-based Rezidor has a portfolio of 334 hotels in operation and under development worldwide, totaling more than 68,100 rooms in 51 countries throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The firm operates brands including Radisson SAS Hotels, Regent Hotels & Resorts, Park Inn and Country Inns & Suites.
