Sabal Capital Names New President, COO of Lending

A veteran real estate finance executive, Jason Pendergrist joins the firm from Banc of California, where he served as executive vice president & head of real estate and commercial banking.

Sabal Capital Partners has hired Jason Pendergist as president & chief operating officer of the firm’s term lending division. He will be responsible for overseeing the company’s growth, with a focus on presenting new financial offerings and increasing transaction volume.  

Before joining Sabal, Pendergist was the executive vice president & head of real estate and commercial banking with Banc of California, focused on six business units. Prior to that, he was the president of consumer and commercial banking at Luther Burbank Savings, senior vice president at JPMorgan Chase and managing director & head of CTL-East, where he focused on growing the business that made $2 billion in yearly originations into a platform closing nearly $14 billion.

Pendergist was a founding member of the American Bankers Association’s Commercial Real Estate Committee in 2015. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in communications from University of Colorado Boulder and an MBA in Finance from Leeds School of Business.
