Cushman & Wakefield is developing a fulfillment center in Savannah, Ga. for New York City-based Safavieh, an international home furnishings brand. The 1.1 million-square-foot facility will be located at the Savannah River International Trade Park.

Safavieh will invest $60 million to build the property. Slated for completion in quarter four of 2018, the property is expected to create 200 jobs.

It Takes a Team

Senior Director of Cushman & Wakefield’s eCommerce Fulfillment Practice Group Bob Robers represented Safavieh in acquiring the land and developing the site. Cushman & Wakefield’s Bradley Migdal and Carol Henderson secured economic incentives for the development.

Georgia Department of Economic Development Director of Logistics, Energy, Agribusiness and Food Brittany Holtzclaw represented the Global Commerce division in collaboration with the Savannah Economic Development Authority and Georgia Power.

“Savannah is strategically located to facilitate throughput of Safavieh’s imported goods and fulfillment needs,” said Robers, in prepared remarks. “Safavieh already operates more than 500,000 square feet of warehousing in Savannah, and this investment will more than triple their presence.”
