Sanders Kicks Off Work on $17M Rehab Center

The Cincinnati area is about to get another hospital. On Monday, February 23, The Sanders Trust announced it has started work on the Reliant Norwood Rehabilitation Hospital. Construction is expected to take about 11 months, with the new facility scheduled to open in February 2016.

A $17 million rehabilitation hospital is coming to Norwood. The Sanders Trust announced on Feb. 23 that construction is under way on Reliant Norwood Rehabilitation Hospital. Scheduled to open in February 2016, the post-acute care facility will be located near Highway 562 and Reading Road at Central Pointe on the Lateral .

The second collaboration of Birmingham, Ala.-based Sanders Trust and Reliant Hospital Partners, the 40-bed facility will provide nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology and other post-acute care services. An affiliate of Richardson, Texas-based Reliant will lease the facility upon its completion.

“Reliant Norwood Rehabilitation Hospital furthers The Sanders Trust’s strategy of adding between $100 and $200 million annually to its portfolio by acquiring and developing medical office buildings, inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and specialty hospitals,” said CEO Rance Sanders in a statement.

Perkins & Will’s Dallas office is the project architect. Birmingham, Ala.-based Robins & Morton is serving as general contractor. Synovus Bank, also of Birmingham, is providing financing. JLL’s Cincinnati office advised the Sanders Trust on site selection.
