Skanska to Build Seattle-Area Schools for $78M

The company signed a contract with the Central Kitsap School District to construct a new middle school and high school in Silverdale, Wash. The facilities are expected to become operational in the 2019-2020 academic year and serve 2,100 students.

Skanska has signed a $78 million contract with the Central Kitsap School District to construct a new middle school and high school campus in Silverdale, Wash. The contract will be included in the U.S. order bookings for the first quarter of 2018. 

The middle and high school facilities will comprise around 322,917 square feet and will serve 2,100 students. The existing middle school will be demolished, except for the current gymnasium, which will be upgraded and modernized. The new campus will feature flexible education spaces, state-of-the-art technology and reconstructed fields, which will be more accessible and provide opportunities for sports and community events. 

Construction has begun and is scheduled for completion in time for the 2019-2020 school year.
