A team made up of general contractor Skender, architect JGMA and McNitt Consulting delivered Esperanza Health Center, a two-story medical building located in Brighton Park, Chicago. The facility will provide 26,000 square feet of space and will include clinical office, 30 exam rooms, space for additional diagnostic and treatment services, a retail pharmacy as well as a 69-space parking lot. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was celebrated May 17.

(Skender designed an innovative facade for Loyola University Lab in the Edgewater neighborhood.)

The health-care center is located at 4700 S. California Ave., a few miles from Chicago Midway International Airport. It is also a few blocks from Kedzie and Western Metra stations. The building features an innovative design, with the façade using color-shifting metal panels.

Brighton Park is generally considered an underserved neighborhood when it comes to medical services according to the Health Resources and Services Administration. The nearest health-care centers are Holy Cross Medical Center and Mercy Medical on Pulaski.
