Sprint to Expand Midwest Footprint With 30 New Stores

The additions will create more than 200 new jobs across Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska by quarter four of 2017.

Sprint plans to add 30 new stores and more than 200 jobs throughout the Midwest, landing in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska by quarter four of 2017. New positions will cover operations, retail and technical experts. The company currently has more than 1,200 regional employees and operates more than 280 retail locations across the Midwest. 

Growth in Action

In Minnesota, Sprint was added to the Distributed Antenna System at Xcel Energy Center and is improving coverage at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds and the Winter Park Practice Facility. In Kansas City, Sprint made speed and capacity improvements at Arrowhead Stadium, Children’s Mercy Park, Kaufman Stadium and the Sprint Center. 

Tim Donahue, regional president of the Midwest for Sprint, was appointed as a sitting board member of KC Rising and the Downtown Council. Additionally, he serves as a board member on the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and participates with the Kansas City Area Development Council board.
