Starwood Hotels & Resorts is committed to making a difference in the hospitality industry through its environmentally-friendly Element brand.

The company recently announced plans to expand the reach of the brand with the opening of three new Element hotels in Greater China over the next four years.  Element made its official debut in the Asia Pacific with the opening of the 188-key Element Suzhou Science and Technology Town in June 2015.

“Element is experiencing tremendous growth momentum, fueled by strong demand from consumers who are increasingly interested in environmentally-friendly practices and sustainable living,” said Brian McGuinness, senior vice president of Specialty Select Brands for Starwood in a prepared statement.

Starwood intends to open three new Element hotels in China, as follows:

  • Element Chongli – the 150-key hotel is scheduled to open in 2017 in Zhangjiakou, co-host city of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. The hotel will be located in the Sitaizui Village in Chongli County, Hebei Province;
  • Element Sanya Haitang Bay – the 204-key hotel will open in the Haitang Bay District in the southern part of the Hainan Island in 2018;
  • Element Tianjin Beichen – the 180-key hotel will open in 2019 and will be located just 30 minutes away of the Tianjin city center. The hotel will also overlook the Northern Canal of the Hai River.
