T5 Opens New Dallas Facility
- Oct 26, 2017
T5 Data Centers completed the construction of a new facility within its campus in Plano, Texas. T5@Dallas III adds 10.75 megawatts of capacity and spans 156,000 square feet of which 94,400 square feet is data hall space. The T5 campus is in Plano’s Legacy Business Park, approximately 60 miles south from the company’s AllianceTexas hyperscale facility.
T5@Dallas III is a greenfield, purpose-built project. Its power capacity is backed up by N+1 and 2N MEP configurations for guaranteed uptime. The building was designed to withstand winds of over 221 miles per hour. It bolsters a water cooling system implemented to lower costs and increase sustainability. Maintenance is ensured by its own dedicated T5 Facilities Management team. The data center can benefit from multiple carriers and fiber connections, giving possible tenants more choices and pricing plans.
Dallas’ tech growth
The plan for T5@Dallas III was inspired by one of the company’s previous data facilities.
“Dallas is our most active data center market so it only made sense to bolster our T5@Dallas campus with an additional enterprise grade facility. Our new T5@Dallas III data center is a smaller version of the adjoining T5@Dallas I data center with the same robust construction, design redundancy, and physical, electrical, and mechanical infrastructure,” said Aaron Wangenheim, COO at T5 Data Centers, in a prepared statement.
The original T5@Dallas facility is a 311,000-square-foot building delivering 21 megawatts of power, with four separate data centers operating under one roof. The company’s Dallas facilities are LEED Silver certified. They also received the Uptime Institute’s Management & Operations Stamp of Approval.
