The Hotel of Avalon Celebrates Topping Out
- Apr 07, 2017
The Hotel at Avalon has recently announced topping out, anchoring the 86-acre Avalon. The master-planned community includes shopping, dining, entertainment, living and working opportunities in Alpharetta, Ga. Managed by HEI Hotels & Resorts, the 330-key hotel broke ground in June 2016. The facility is expected to open doors in January 2018.
Stormont Hospitality Group partnered with North American Properties and the City of Alpharetta to develop the $112 million project. The connecting Alpharetta Conference Center features 500,000 square feet of best-in-class retail, 15 chef-driven restaurants, 750,000 square feet of Class A office space, 627 residences, concierge service and a 12-screen all premium theater. Located at 400 and Old Milton Parkway, the hotel will offer a 24-hour fitness center, upscale lobby bar and gathering space and a second-story pool terrace. Cooper Carry was the architect of the project, while the interiors have been designed by Perkins + Will and The Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry.
“The Hotel at Avalon and the connected Alpharetta Conference Center will fill a huge void in Alpharetta by bringing an upscale boutique hotel and event facility to the market, meeting the substantial demand for luxury accommodations and event space,” Jim Stormont, president of Stormont Hospitality Group, said in a prepared statement.
The topping out of the hotel falls in line with the grand opening of the second phase of Avalon, Boulevard East, which will double the development’s size and bring additional retail and dining space, as well as 1,000 office workers and 350 residents.
