The Sanders Trust has hired Hurston Raley as its new vice president of asset management. In his new position, Raley will be responsible for lowering operation expenses, improving proficiency and enhancing tenant relationships. Raley will also focus on evaluating the company’s strategies to make sure that they coincide with health-care providers’ plans.

With more than 20 years of industry experience, Raley specialized in healthcare, office, retail and industrial sectors. Prior to joining The Sanders Trust, he held a management position at Cushman & Wakefield, where he oversaw the company’s office and retail portfolios. In 2014, Raley’s name was included in the Birmingham Business Journal Top 40 Under 40 list; he is also a member of Leadership Vestavia Hills, the Vestavia Chamber of Commerce and the Alabama Wildlife Federation.

In a recent deal, The Sanders Trust expanded its portfolio with a $11.2 million development. The company broke ground on a medical office building in Glenview, Ill.
