- Nov 24, 2015
Industry veteran Breton (Brett) Flanders has joined Boston-area construction manager and real estate developer Tocci Building Cos. as project executive/director of construction.
In his new role, Flanders will oversee day-to-day construction, management and administrative activities for assigned projects, Tocci announced today—and will immediately begin overseeing tasks on the company’s program management project for Boston medical Center’s Clinical Campus redesign. Additionally, Flanders will assist in the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures in order to achieve defined corporate goals.
“Larger, more complex projects require skilled managers that understand the bigger picture, and also the intricacies of collaboration, timing, safety, and efficiency. Brett possesses this knowledge set and will oversee Tocci’s efforts to ensure successful program management and delivery,” said in prepared remarks said Tocci Chief Enabling Officer, John Tocci.
Flanders’ career spans 25 years, design and engineering on a variety of high-profile hospital, healthcare, and higher-education projects in the Boston area.
Before joining Tocci, Flanders was a Project Executive at Gilbane, Inc., where he was responsible for the execution and delivery of developments in the Healthcare and Institutional markets, working on a long list of significant projects including the MIT Stata Center Fogg Art Museum at Harvard University, Dana-Farber Yawkey Center for Cancer Care, Saint Vincent Hospital Cancer & Wellness Center, and UNH Kingsbury Hall.
Flanders studied at Ohio University, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, and has a Master of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Rhode Island.
