TownePlace Suites by Marriott Expands Canada Footprint
- Nov 24, 2017
TownePlace Suites by Marriott announced the opening of a new 128-key hotel in Windsor, Ontario, in a newly renovated downtown building. Prior to its opening, there was no extended-stay hotel in the city center. The Sunray Group owns and operates the property, along with a growing number of other hospitality properties throughout eastern Canada.
Located at 250 Dougall Ave., the site of a former Quality Suites, the nine-story hotel is located three blocks from the Detroit River and half a mile from the entrance to the Detroit-Windsor tunnel, providing easy access to the U.S. A regional bus station is also in the immediate area, along with a number of local bus stops offering access to other parts of the city.
Extensive $8M renovation
The TownePlace Suites Windsor’s opening follows the completion of a two-year, $8 million renovation, which updated guest rooms and amenities throughout the property. Hotel amenities include a 258-square-foot meeting space, a 24-hour fitness center, complimentary Wi-Fi, a business lounge and an equipped kitchen in each room.
“We encourage our guests to be real and help them to do so by providing a seamless residential atmosphere with a friendly staff who genuinely cares about our guests. That is what our brand is all about and this property is a great example of that,” said Diane Mayer, vice president and global brand manager of TownePlace Suites in a prepared statement.
