Transwestern Healthcare Hires Vice President in DC Office

The new hire will advise owners and users of medical office space on acquisitions, dispositions and leasing.

Transwestern Commercial Services continues to expand its Healthcare Advisory Services team across the nation. Shortly after hiring Vince Femiano, Kate Morris and Kevin Smigiel in Phoenix, the company welcomed Ken Smondrowski to its Washington, D.C., office. Smondrowski, who joined the firm from Health-Pro Realty Group, will advise owners and users of medical office space throughout Washington, D.C., on asset acquisition, disposition and lease negotiations.

The new vice president has more than 20 years of real estate experience, having previously worked for companies such as The RMR Group, Mack-Cali Realty Corp. and Grubb & Ellis. While at RMR, Smondrowski was part of a team leasing and managing more than 7.5 million square feet of commercial space in Baltimore, Silver Spring, Rockville and Fairfax, Va.

Throughout his career, Smondrowski has worked with a variety of clients including Microbiology International, which he helped purchase a 65,000-square-foot lab/flex building in Frederick, Md. The owner retained him for asset management, leasing and construction management for three other laboratory facilities.     

A graduate of Emory University, Smondrowski is also a former board member of the Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Association of Greater Washington, D.C.
