Cincinnati is getting a new hotel. On June 9, a development team broke ground on a new Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott that will bring 115 rooms to U Square @ the Loop.
The Cincinnati Business Courier reported that the project is expected to cost $15 million. It is developed by USquare Hotel LLC, a group comprising Oxford-based Hotel Development Services LLC, NAI Bergman and Kingsley + Co., a minority-owned holding company founded by former Cincinnati Bengals safety Chinedum Ndukwe.
The new hotel will be called the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott hotel at U Square @ the Loop. The six-story structure will be located at the northeast corner of West McMillan and South Market streets. The hotel will offer 350 square feet of meeting space, a fitness room, an indoor pool and other amenities.
Hotel Development Services will be the project’s general contractor. It will be managed by American Hospitality Management LLC once it opens for business, projected for late spring or early summer 2016.
The $15 million project is the last component of the U Square @ the Loop mixed-use development. This $78 million project opened in August 2013. It was developed by a joint venture of Al Neyer and Towne Properties LLC, and features 80,000 square feet of retail space, 40,000 square feet of office space, 161 apartments, a community green and two structured parking garages with more than 700 spaces.
