Unique Luxury Resort at Loon Mountain to Open Next Month
- Apr 20, 2016
Lincoln, N.H.—RiverWalk at Loon LLC is set to open its seven-story luxury lodging facility consisting of 79 upscale suites in May. Rising 188 feet above ground, the project is the first phase of development for the 170-unit full-service resort and fractional ownership hotel that will replace the old paper mill in Lincoln, N.H.
The one-, two- and three-bedroom suites comprise full kitchens and master bedrooms, offering views of the White Mountains and Loon Mountain Ski Resort. Common amenities are anything but ordinary and include a commercial winery, an upscale Italian restaurant, a full-service spa and a state-of-the art game room. A premiere for the hospitality market in the country is the engineered outdoor/indoor swimming pool that transforms into a skating rink during the winter season.
“This development is an immense transformation from the paper mill of yesteryear to what it is today”, said Dennis Ducharme, president of RiverWalk at Loon LLC. While reservations for June are already being accepted, an official opening event is planned later that month.
The investment for the first phase of the project was an estimated $30 million. The largest part of the amount was raised through the federal government’s EB-5 program. The initiative guarantees green cards for foreigners who invest in job-creating businesses in the US.
Construction on the second phase of the project is scheduled to start next year, at the same time with the Doppelmayr Gondola. The six-cabin system is designed to carry 48 passengers across the Pemigewasset River to the base of Loon Mountain. Additional shopping and retail spaces will be built, while the landscaping plans call for a vineyard.
RiverWalk at Loon Mountain LLC is developed by Dennis Ducharme, who is also behind InnSeason Resorts, a chain of hospitality resorts across New England.
