Law firm Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease L.L.P. has signed a long-term lease to move its Cincinnati office from the Atrium II Tower to the 41-story Great American Tower at Queen City Square. The firm plans to transition into its new space during the first quarter of 2012.
Vorys will initially lease more than 60,000 square feet of the new Great American Tower on floors 34, 35 and 36. The law firm will fully occupy floors 35 and 36 and will partially occupy floor 34, with the option to expand to more than 75,000 square feet, enough to accommodate 115 lawyers.
The lease brings occupancy at Queen City Square to 900,000 square feet, or more than 90 percent of the 1 million-square-foot complex. Approximately 90,000 square feet remain available for lease, including three prominent floors in the high-rise elevator bank.
Queen City Square is a $400 million development of Eagle Realty Group, a member of Cincinnati-based Fortune 500 company Western & Southern Financial Group. Co-sponsored by the Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority and the city of Cincinnati, the Great American Tower is a 41-story state-of-the-art office tower. It is the second phase of an office, parking and retail complex and the first “green” building in Cincinnati’s central business district. The project has three major components: a 1,600-car parking garage on 11 levels, an 800,000-square-foot, 33-level office tower above a portion of the garage and a public pedestrian/walking area with retail space.
Founded in 1909, Vorys has 375 attorneys in six offices in Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland and Akron, Ohio; Washington, D.C.; and Houston–with 76 lawyers and 50 employees housed in Cincinnati. One of Ohio’s largest law firms, it is also the fastest growing, expanding more than 50 percent since 2006. The move to the Great American Tower signifies Vorys’ long-term commitment to downtown Cincinnati.
