Northridge Capital LLC partnered with local developer Sarpa Development for the redevelopment of Sky Hotel into W Aspen, an 88-key property located in Aspen, Colo. The company selected Marriott International’s W Hotels as the operator for the new property.

The property is located at 709 E. Durant Ave., at the base of Aspen Mountain, in the heart of town. Northridge will transform the former Sky Hotel into W Aspen, with the new property including six suites and 11 W-branded residences. W Aspen will feature an 1,100-square-foot FIT, the brand’s gym concept, more than 1,600 square feet of meeting space, fire pits, cabanas and a dance floor. Additionally, a 1,600-square-foot outdoor patio and a 12,000-square-foot bar and pool will be available on site.

Rowland+Broughton Architecture of Aspen and Nemaworkshop of New York City, in partnership with W’s design team, will be designing the new hotel.

An Expanding Brand

W Hotels continues its round of premiers. After the opening of its first W Sound Suite in North America, the company ticks the flag’s first alpine destination resort with W Aspen. By 2020, W Hotels expects to have a portfolio of 75 hotels around the world.
