Waterfront Inn Changes Hands in DC’s Georgetown Area

Marcus & Millichap closed the sale at $672 per square foot.

WashingtonMarcus & Millichap recently announced the sale of Canal Inn in Washington’s Georgetown area. The 3,350-square-foot boutique inn sold for a little under $2.3 million, roughly $672 per square foot.

A D.C.-based Marcus & Millichap team led by Vice President of Investments Marty Zupancic, Associate Vice President of Investments Peggy Brooks and Investments Specialist Christian Barreiro marketed the property on behalf of an individual trust. The identity of the buyer has not been disclosed.

Located at 1061 31st St., NW., on the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal, the 10-key historic property was built in 1831 and underwent complete renovations in 2012. According to Curbed Washington DC, the asset landed on the market in May 2016, with the anonymous buyer matching the asking price.

Close to Georgetown’s plethora of retail and dining destinations, the inn is situated within a 15-minute walk from Dupont and Washington circles, as well as from the George Washington University and D.C.’s Golden Triangle area.
