Weichert Commercial Brokerage Taps New SVP

Morris Plains, N.J.—Weichert Commercial Brokerage Inc. recently named 40-year commercial real estate veteran Thomas Semler as the company’s new senior vice president. Semler will be in charge of the firm’s sales development team, with responsibility for the professional development of Weichert Commercial Brokerage’s sales associates.

This is a unique opportunity for Tom to help us grow Weichert Commercial Brokerage, while also allowing us to serve our clients more effectively by having a team of highly trained sales professionals,” said Weichert Commercial Brokerage Inc. President James Sousa, in a prepared statement.
Prior to joining Weichert Commercial Brokerage, Semler was senior vice president at Avison Young since 2013, as well as a principal of Cresa New Jersey. Weichert’s new senior vice president also spent almost two decades at Cushman & Wakefield. Semler specializes in representing clients in the acquisition and disposition of corporate facilities, tenant representation, agency leasing and sales, portfolio management and lease restructuring. Over the course of his career, Semler has acted on behalf of his clients in leases and sales totaling more than 4 million square feet.
Semler graduated from Georgetown University with a B.A. in economics. He is a member of the Georgetown University Real Estate Alliance and the Morris County Economic Development Corp. A 30-year resident of Morris County, Semler is also a board member and treasurer of the Morris County Park Alliance.
