The property, currently known as Metropolis Lifestyle Center will be renamed into The Shops at Perry Crossing in October. Renovations will include additional parking, a redesigned central plaza with flex areas to accommodate events, as well as signage and improved lighting. The rebranding will coincide with the center’s grand reopening planned for the fall.
Metropolis is located 10 miles southwest of Indianapolis and mixes dining, shopping and entertainment in an attractive setting. The center draws Central Indiana visitors to its 44 stores and anchors–JCPenney and Dick’s Sporting Goods–as well as restaurants, such as Claddagh Irish Pub and Stone Creek Dining Company. Its many boutiques and the Carmike Metropolis cinema are also popular.
“The center is part of the town of Plainfield and its surrounding communities, providing jobs, tax revenue and retail convenience for the community,” Woolpert’s Program Director James Goggan said in prepared remarks. “Cities around the country are facing concerns with aging shopping centers. We’re proud to help communities and owners with their retail revitalization efforts.”
