  • Trammel Crow Company, Principal Real Estate Investors, and City of Austin Begin Second Phase at Thomas Green Water Treatment Plant

    Trammel Crow Company in partnership with Principal Real Estate Investors announced the acquisition from the City of Austin of the Green Water Treatment Plant (GWTP) lot known as 500 W 2nd Street in downtown Austin. Construction of a 29-story office tower is scheduled to begin immediately, with the finalization date set for the first quarter of 2017.

    The Girls’ School of Austin, the city’s only private, independent school for girls in grades K – 8, dedicates its new buildings and grounds on September 13, followed by architectural presentations and workshops on sustainable design. The project came to completion after several years of capital campaign and nine months of construction.

    A 29-story office building will break ground on June 4. The project belongs to Cousins Properties Incorporated, a major player on the Austin real estate market for over 20 years that placed important buildings on the Austin skyline: the Palisades West, the Frost Bank Tower, and the latest purchase, the 816 Congress.
